Privacy Policy for Coco Connect

Cobalt Creative, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Coco Connect mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use Coco Connect:

  • Account information: your name, email address, and phone number when you create an account.
  • Connection information: information about the family members or contacts you add to stay connected with through the App (e.g., their name and contact details, added by you).
  • Communications data: messages, check-ins, and status updates sent or received through the App, including SMS text messages sent via our messaging provider (Twilio).
  • Usage data: how you interact with the App, such as features used and app diagnostics, to help us maintain and improve the service.
  • Device information: device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers used for push notifications and app functionality.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the core features of Coco Connect (connecting you with the people you care about).
  • To send SMS text messages and push notifications you have requested or that relate to your account activity.
  • To maintain the security and integrity of the App and troubleshoot issues.
  • To communicate with you about updates, support requests, or changes to this policy.

3. SMS / Text Messaging

Coco Connect uses a two-step consent process for text messages:

  • Account holder: when you register, you may separately opt in to receive SMS messages from Coco Connect yourself. This is presented through its own checkbox, separate from account creation.
  • Connections (e.g., Mom): when you add a connection’s name and phone number, you confirm you have their permission to send them a one-time Coco Connect invitation text. That person is not enrolled in recurring “Daily Hello” messages at that point — they must independently reply YES to the invitation message before any recurring messages begin.

Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency may vary. Anyone who has opted in may reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance. We use Twilio, Inc. as our messaging provider to deliver these messages; Twilio processes message content solely to deliver it on our behalf.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate the App, including Supabase (database and authentication hosting) and Twilio (SMS delivery).
  • Other users you connect with — information you choose to share within the App (such as status updates) is visible to the family members/contacts you’ve connected with.
  • Legal authorities, if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Cobalt Creative, LLC, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Supabase’s secure cloud infrastructure. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction: you can review and update your account information within the App’s settings.
  • Deletion: you may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from the Account settings screen in the App, or by contacting us at the email below. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and connection data from our systems, except where we are required to retain certain records by law.
  • Communication preferences: you can opt out of SMS or push notifications at any time through the App’s settings.

7. Children’s Privacy

Coco Connect is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the “Last updated” date above or through the App.
